As a parent or guardian of a Star of the Sea student, you are automatically a part of this essential network of parent volunteers. In close partnership with school administration, the Parents Club bolsters academic, social, after-school, and fundraising events.
Along with the Parents Club board members and the school principal, all parents are invited to attend monthly meetings where ongoing projects and events are discussed — both curricular and extra-curricular. These meetings serve as the ideal forum to:
Uncover your inner volunteer. Whether it’s manning a booth during our fall County Fair or donating auction items to the Spring Gala, everyone can find a way to participate in the Parents Club. You may even find yourself organizing a new fundraising event!
Get the inside scoop. Learn first-hand from our principal the latest and greatest information such as which high schools our soon-to-be graduates are headed to, standardized test results, directives from the Archdiocese, or just his thoughts on how Star is doing overall. Know your school from both the high level to day-to-day happenings. Get updates from the various committees about where we stand on enhancing school technology, the latest venues and dates for our sports events, profits made from our last fundraiser, and next steps for future fundraising efforts.
Speak your mind. Air any concerns you may have about your child’s school environment, and (hopefully) have some suggestions for improvement.
Get connected. Parents Club is a great place to meet and get to know other parents, teachers and staff.
We hope to see you at our next meeting! All families are encouraged to attend at least four Parents Club meetings each academic year. Not only do you earn volunteer hour credits for attending, your child will also earn a Free Dress Pass.
