Admissions Policy

Thank you for your interest in Star of the Sea School! We look forward to meeting you and your child and introducing you to the Star of the Sea community.

Kindergarten applicants for the 2009–2010 school year should be 5 years of age by December 1, 2009. We also welcome transfer students!

Following are the steps for applying to our school:

1. Come visit our school: Please call the school office at 415.221.8558 to schedule a visit. Unfortunately, there are no remaining tours or open houses before the kindergarten application deadline. If you'd like an application packet please call the office to have one sent to you.

2. Complete an application: For priority consideration for Kindergarten, the deadline is December 12, 2008. We accept applications for transfer students until April 17, 2009. In order for your application to be processed, it must be accompanied by the non-refundable $50 application fee as well as a copy of your child’s birth certificate and, if Catholic, a copy of the baptismal certificate. In addition, for Kindergarten applicants, the evaluation form should be given to your child’s preschool and returned directly to us. This should not accompany your application. For students entering grades 1 through 8, please have your child’s previous school send us report cards and standardized test scores for the past two years.

Once your completed application has been received, we will contact you to schedule an appointment for your child’s kindergarten readiness assessement or, for transfer students, to have your child “shadow” with one our students.
