Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! A few days off are always great but more important is the fact that God has given us eternal life. God Bless you all.

I also want to wish you a Happy Cesar Chavez Day. Growing up in the City I took the wealth of California for granted. Cesar Chavez was aware that that wealth was largely based on the agricultural riches of this state. He was also aware that most of the men and women who toiled in the fields were not able to share in that wealth. Through his efforts, the United Farm Workers Union was organized and helped farm workers to have a better life. The social justice that Mr. Chavez fought for should be celebrated!

• Last week’s letter announced the results of the Science Fair and we inadvertently left out two Star students. Jackie Tan and Danielle Chen took first place at Star of the Sea and they also received Honorable Mention at the Randall Museum. Congratulations girls!
• Ooops, my mistake. The first day of school is not August 21, 2008, it will be August 27. A complete calendar for the new school year will be published soon.
• Please remember to return your re–registration form by this Friday, April 4. The registration fee of $500.00 per child is due April 25th.
