Please note that the below application materials are only for the elementary school. If you are interested in our preschool, please visit the Preschool Application page.
Following are the steps for applying for Kindergarten:
- Visit us: Please call the school at (415) 221-8558 to set an appointment for a tour or attend one of our open houses.
- Complete an application: Currently we have Open Enrollment for all grades K-8. All applications must be submitted by May 1. Your child should be 5 years old by September 1 of year she/he starts Kindergarten to be considered for our incoming Kindergarten class. Non-refundable application fee of $50 should accompany your application.
- Give evaluation form to your preschool: For Kindergarten applicants, the evaluation form should be given to your child’s preschool and returned directly to us by your preschool. This should not accompany your application.
- Come for the assessment: Once your completed application has been received, we will contact you to schedule an appointment for your child’s Kindergarten readiness assessment or, for transfer students, to have your child ”shadow” one of our students.
An application must be completed for each student enrolling in our elementary school. The final application deadline for Kindergarten 2018-2019 has been extended until May 1.
The application is in pdf format. If needed you may download the Adobe pdf reader here.
We accept applications for transfer students throughout the year. In order for your application to be processed, it must be accompanied by a non-refundable $50 application fee.
For students entering grades 1 through 8, please have your child’s previous school send us report cards and standardized test scores for the past two years.
Families that wish to transfer their child to Star of the Sea from another school are welcome to schedule an appointment to meet the principal, tour the school, and “shadow” two days in the life of a Star of the Sea student. This observation visit includes partnering the prospective student with one of our students for a full day. We find this allows your child an opportunity to fully experience how our school works and provides them the chance to spend time with our students and faculty. Shadow days begin during the second week of January.
