Weekly Letter (Jun 1, 2015)

Dear Parents and Students,

Today’s letter really isn’t so much a letter as a series of notes. I apologize for that but hope you understand the hectic nature of the last few days of a school year.

I want to thank you all for the support and love you have shown the school this year. It will be sad to say goodbye to the Class of 2015, but in a few short months we will welcome the Class of 2023 with great enthusiasm! This year we will also be saying goodbye to many families who will be seeing their last child graduate: Arango, Appel, Baran, Dao, Deng, Jasmin, Le, Nazaire, Peterian, Hagerty, Cho, Rhee, Kim, Farruggio, Sanchez, Mogul, Grant, Crook, Robinett, Ocharoenkul, and Batteau. (Please note that families are listed according to how long they have been at Star. One has been here just this year, another since 1983. And there is a rumor that the 1983 family will be bringing Bella here in a few years.)

I also want to thank Father Vito Perrone for coming on as our chaplain. Next year Father Vito will be on campus three days per week (probably Wednesday through Friday) and for special events. To reach Father Vito you may drop off a note at school or call him at 415-823-3256. Father prefers calls and messages to emails and texts.

There are many activities taking place this week and next so be sure to check all correspondence from your child’s teacher. In spite of all the things going on, we will still have some potential new students shadowing this week, so please stay on your best behavior.

All families are invited to our Baccalaureate Mass this Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. This will be a student body Mass but we will reserve good seats for families of the graduates. And all families are invited to our Graduation Ceremony this Friday at 5:00 p.m. in Church.

Student Council elections are being held today and I want to thank the outgoing officers and congratulate the newly elected officers. I will publish the results next week. Thanks also to Miss Pence and Mr. Kaiser for all their hard work with Student Council this year.

Have a great summer!
