Weekly Letter (Sep 12 ’16)

Dear Parents and Students,

Even though school just started, we are already looking towards next year. Representatives from several Catholic high schools will be visiting our 8th grade students next week to help them make the best decision for their future education. Admissions Directors and students from Sacred Heart Cathedral, Saint Ignatius, Archbishop Riordan, Mercy High School, Stuart Hall and Convent of the Sacred Heart will all be coming to Star. Most, if not all, of our eighth graders will be making “shadow” visits to select school on their personal list (no more than three please). These events and others, such as athletic contests, symphonies, drama productions and Open Houses really help students and parents clarify their decision making process. For most of the kids this is the first “real choice” they will ever make. Next week we will be sending home San Francisco Catholics annual school edition with all 7th and 8th graders. Be sure to keep an eye out for that. It is a great starting point to get to know our Catholic high schools. A copy will also be posted on the bulletin board in the lower hallway for interested parents and students in lower grades.

Have a great week!
